Charities

We regularly assist charities by providing decluttering, organising and life admin services to their service users. We have a wealth of experience working with individuals from all backgrounds and with various personal challenges both mentally and physically. Our team are patient and understanding and will work with you to find the best solution for your service user.

Helping charities find solutions for their clients

We love working with Charities all across the North West. Once you have identified a need for one of your clients, we can help deliver the service within your funding budget. We work with Age UK, The Stroke Association, Royal British Legion and NEWCIS. All their clients had a similar need for less clutter and more organisation in their lives and we were delighted to deliver it in different ways depending on the circumstance.

The Problem

Susan was carer to a neurodivergent child, was living with ADHD and autism herself and struggled with focus and organisation to keep on top of things. She felt she was spinning out of control and reached out to a local charity to help.

During a consultation it became clear that Susan was completely overwhelmed with her home. It felt chaotic and stressful to her and she had no idea where to even begin sorting it out. Letting go of items was not an issue. She just needed a helping hand and a sympathetic ear to make it happen.

The charity received funding for 3 x 4 hour sessions and had the option for additional funding depending on the success of the project.

The Solution

Susan was delighted to get help. She said she felt like a weight had been lifted from her shoulders as soon as we walked in. With limited funding, we needed to focus on the areas that would make a real difference to Susan's wellbeing. We started in the bedroom so that Susan's cluttered room would be calmer and clearer and would feel like a place to relax when her son was in bed.

We decluttered things that weren't needed. From time to time, Susan's focus would stray so we encouraged her to stay on task, After she had made decisions about what could stay and go we ensured Susan had breaks and while she was gone we focused on organisation and labelling. The labels have proven critical to the organisation for her and her son and she was so happy to be spending less time looking for things after just one session.

During the sessions we also introduced some time management and prioritisation techniques.

Fast forward 3 sessions and the home feels calmer and more organised. There is still work to do and it will take more time but Susan feels like she has learnt the foundations and can continue on her own.

The above case study is quite typical although we work with all manner of physical and mental health issues. Clutter can build and be all consuming.   It can cause stress levels to go through the roof and can be a real problem for many people. They reach out for help but the problem takes time and knowledge to fix effectively.  Finding someone thorough, methodical, trustworthy and kind is the solution. That's exactly what we are at Life ADDmin.

Frequently asked questions

What rooms can you declutter?

We can help with decluttering in all rooms of the home and paperwork too if required.

Can you work with clients with mobility issues?

We can undertake all of the physical aspects of the decluttering and organising process. All we need is for the client to be present to make the necessary decisions.

Can you work with clients with hoarding behaviours?

It depends on the circumstances. Please give us a call to discuss on an individual basis.

Does the client need to be involved in the consultation?

Yes, the service user should be involved at every stage including any consultation that takes place and they should also be present at each session. The reason for this is that our service is ‘client centred’ as we want them to feel in control of what decisions are being made about the items in their home

How long does a project take?

There are so many variables when it comes decluttering and organising projects that we can't give an estimate. With charities we typically work with an assigned budget and ensure our time is put to optimum use.

How do you bill?

For Charity Work we are aware accounts departments cannot work within our standard payment timescales and are happy to be flexible with terms.

How do you make sure all parties are kept up to date?

Katie, the team manager, will ensure everyone is fully informed on progress, updates and budgets.
